Finding The Perfect Garden Structure

Finding the perfect garden structure can be difficult especially when you do not know where to start or what exactly your looking for. Garden Structures especially louvered gazebos have become very popular in recent years they are all over social media on home accounts but there are many different types of structure to suit your space and budget.

Where to start…

A good place to start is in your garden, measure out the space you would like to cover and remember to look up, is there any trees or anything which means you need a certain height / roof area? Do you want a structure that is easy to disassemble and take down or do you want something permanent? Once you know your ideal measurements and kind of structure look to see what design will fit your taste and your outside space; for example Louvered Gazebos are more modern in design than polycarbonate gazebos.

Fabric Roofed Gazebo's

Fabric Gazebo's are perfect for covering areas for a short amount of time. These structures are not designed to be left up all year round as the wind / elements will damage the canopies on the frame. They are perfect for garden parties or shade on hot days.

Polycarbonate Gazebo's

Polycarbonate Gazebos are also known as solid roof gazebos. They often include curtains and nets and a perfect permanent structures for the garden ideal for covering hot-tubs / swim spas. Polycarbonate Gazebos have a generally classic look to them.

Louvered Structures

Louvered Structures have become very popular in recent years, lots of companies sell them and they all seem similar. When choosing the right one for you our 'Quick Things to Think About' section below gives you tips on what to check for when purchasing.

Wooden Pergola's

Wooden items in the garden will always be timeless. The two most common wood to use for a garden pergola is Western Red Cedar and Redwood, Of course pressure treated wood is also a favourite.

Quick Things to Think About

What is the frame made of? Although Steel is a strong metal it rusts easily, if you are looking for a frame which is strong and does not rust look for a aluminium framed gazebo.

Is the Gazebo easy to assemble?
How many people does it take to put the gazebo up 2 people is the most common if the build requires more people, it could be a very complicated build and take a long time to put together.

What is included exactly?
What parts are included in the gazebo are the curtains an add on? I know that personally we would want everything to included in one.

Can you find replacements easily for parts?
Accidents happen and with fabric roofed gazebos they can come wind damaged easily, if there was ever an issue would you be able to located replacement roofs, curtains or even frames?

What is the warranty period?
When you have chosen the perfect garden structure for you, what is the warranty period on the structure and what exactly does it include? Many garden structures do not include wind damage so this is something to be aware of when placing an order.

Is the price in line with competitors?
Research, make sure you search the product and see if anyone else is selling the item, what they have priced it at and if there are any similar on the market? Possibly pop into a few local garden centres and have a look round see what they can offer?

Has the wood been treaded?
If going for a wooden gazebo or pergola has the wood been treated or is this something you will have to do once the build has been completed.
